The Alabama AI Innovation Summit convenes researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers to advance AI as a system—grounded in robust operating frameworks, knowledge infrastructure, and cross-sector collaboration. The Summit serves as a national platform to align research, innovation, and deployment around the foundations of trustworthy, large-scale AI.

The 2026 Alabama AI Innovation Summit is hosted by the Alabama Center for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (ALAAI), the University of Alabama’s flagship center for AI research, innovation, and education. ALAAI serves as a statewide hub connecting universities, industry, government, and communities to advance next-generation artificial intelligence systems and infrastructure.

The Summit is convened at The University of Alabama, a leading public research university with a growing national presence in artificial intelligence, data science, advanced manufacturing, health analytics, and interdisciplinary research.

This inaugural Summit also marks the launch of the ALAAI Alliance Program (AAP)—a new statewide alliance designed to link knowledge ecosystems, innovation ecosystems, and venture systems to accelerate AI research, deployment, and economic impact across Alabama.

In addition to Alabama-based leadership, the Summit will include participation from invited academic institutions, research centers, and innovation organizations from across the country, reflecting the Summit’s national and collaborative scope.
